CLIENT INTERVIEW // TOLEDO, OHIO BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHER
Once or twice a year we run a “Model Call” so we can get new content for the studio. We are never looking for real models though, just everyday babes who will let us share their images on social media. Since many of our clients choose to keep their images private, the model call allows us to have guaranteed images to share. Back in October (??) we ran our last one and this babe won us over in her application.
She brought the fire to her session. The gorgeous artwork of her tattoos, the confidence….and how can we not mention the booty?! Her interview is going to give you all the feels and perfectly explains WHY I do what I do. This babe hustles in real life working 2 jobs! And she worked just as hard at her session, so check it out
How old are you?
What do you do for a living?
Lead Bank Teller and Bartender
What made you take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session?
I began following LNS on Instagram randomly. After an absolute sweetheart of a friend, Reese, posted her photos, my desire for my own shoot grew. A few short weeks later, Lindsay posted her Model Call, and I thought to myself, "Heck, why not shoot for the moon?!" I filled out my app and was so incredibly blessed to be chosen!
Did you have any obstacles or fears about the session?
After talking to Lindsay and her team briefly, and reading all of the provided information, I had ZERO reservations about the shoot. I knew her girl gang would have my back. I had no doubts about hair and makeup, posing, figuring out what to wear, NOTHING! I was almost overly confident if that's possible because of the support I got from the gang.
How did you like working with my team
I WAS ON CLOUD NINE Y'ALL! Courtney- amazing. She's sweet, welcoming, knowledgeable, and adorable too! Forgive me now because I cant remember her name to save my life, but I had such a connection with the hair and makeup girl! We laughed and chatted like we had been friends for years. She did a phenomenal job and was a wonderful fill in. LINDSAY- girl. idk how you do it but I felt nothing short of perfect all day. The champagne may have aided in that, but it was mostly the amazing human that she is inside and out. She was excited about my outfits, she hyped my up during the makeup process, and with every pose she reassured me that I was killing it! I left feeling like a total QUEEN!
How did you like your hair + makeup?
Gorgeous! From a slightly makeup obsessed girl, the products were top of the line and the options were endless! I was so blown away by how good my makeup looked, both in person and how it came across in my images. As for hair, I told her how I normally curl my hair and the type of curls I go for, and she was able to recreate it perfectly. I felt so pampered!
Did you enjoy your session?
DUH! It was fun but most of all empowering. My confidence was on such a high.
Was the session different than you expected?
It was soo much more than I expected. I had high expectations to start, especially after seeing the studio and meeting the girls, but what you cant fully picture is how great this experience will make you feel during and even for the remainder of the day.
What was your favorite part?
OOOOO, such a great question. My favorite part is how the girl gang came together to make me feel beautiful, unstoppable, and incredibly confident.
Did you like your images?
Yaa girl. I have a few parts of my body that aren't my favorite (don't we all). During my viewing party I expressed these small things to Lindsay and Courtney and they were so reassuring! I would make little comments here and there about my nose looking big or whatever the minor thing was and I loved the eye rolls I got! The girls were almost like personally offended that I didn't like every part of my body and they forced me to love myself by the end of it.
How did you feel when you saw your images?
Call me weird, but this was the part I was nervous for. I know I can be so highly critical of myself and I was so worried that I would pick apart my images and not be able to see past those insecurities. Lindsay and Courtney made sure that wasn't possible! They hyped me up about images that I wouldn't have originally liked by pointing out everything they loved about my unique figure and look! My insecurities became a laughing matter and I was told to love myself for exactly the way I am.
Would you ever do another session?
YES! I bought so many outfits for this session that another is a must! I cant let them go to waste!
Will you tell your friends about this session?
I haven't been able to stop! I have some teaser images that I love to show off to everyone and anyone! Although the images are stunning, I speak more on the experience as a whole and the high I felt that day. The images will be a constant reminder that I deserve to feel that way each and every day and I want all women to know and feel that too.
Do you have any advice for women interested in booking a boudoir session?
Stop second guessing yourself because YOU GOT THIS GIRL!
Did anything change regarding the way you see yourself after the session?
I wrote in my model application something personal thing that I have gone through in the last year and I want to share that with everyone now. I was in an awful relationship; I was manipulated through mental and verbal abuse which caused my self-love to dwindle. I was so beaten down, I had no confidence, and I had completely lost my identity. I hardly recognized myself in the mirror anymore. It was one of the toughest things I've had to do, but I finally got the courage to leave. I knew I needed to find myself again and be reminded of how truly special I am. I was reading amazing books and surrounding myself with positive uplifting people. When this opportunity came up, I knew this experience would be just what I needed to see myself as a strong beautiful woman again, and it helped me do exactly that! I cannot find the words to thank Lindsay and her team enough for their impact on my self-worth. I had also expressed another reason I wanted to do this shoot, and its direct towards my tattoos. I feel tattoos and piercings are slowly becoming more and more acceptable in todays society but you may be surprised at the number of people who still give people with body art a condescending comment or glare. I wanted to use this shoot as a way to show tattoos in a more feminine way. That it doesn't matter if you have one smaller one, or if you are heavily tattooed, that you can still be seen as soft and beautiful, and the "harsh" or "tough" stigmas don't need to apply. Sure there are days I dress in all black because I'm feeling fierce, but there also days that I want to feel pretty in colors too. I wanted this to be a way to showcase my artwork in hopes that so many others could appreciate me for who I am, which is a sassy, tattooed mamacita!
Did you enjoy working with me and my team? (Be honest!)
I wish your girl gang could follow me around all day and just be my hype team! Each one of you brings something unique to the team and its the perfect blend.
Any final thoughts on your session or things you'd like me to know?
I appreciate you all from the bottom of my heart and I really, truly, cannot thank you enough for each and every moment spent with you and your team.
