CLIENT INTERVIEW // TOLEDO, OHIO BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHER

SOOOO pumped to share today’s Client Interview. This woman is hands down one of the coolest babes I know. She is sincere and thoughtful and loves her some good music. We were able to incorporate her FAVORITE things (her records!) into her shoot and it was such a fun challenge for me. Read about Ms. R’s experience below!

How old are you?
31

What made you take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session?
I have been struggling to get to know myself again, to love and understand myself again. To embrace my physical and emotional scars from the journey that is life.

I'd been following on Instagram for a year or so. Blown away by the aesthetic, beauty, and the empowerment each image exudes. Always in the back of my mind, "yes, I think I'd like to do this someday."

I had recently kind of started over in my personal life and was starting fresh on my own. Blank slate and all that. It was time to stop neglecting and punishing myself. To pick up the pieces to build the person I choose to be instead of the various molds I'd allowed myself to be crammed into by others.

When I saw the new studio, I knew it was time to pull the trigger and do this. It too was something blank at first and its beauty about to be explored.

Did you have any obstacles or fears about the session?
We all have our own perceived flaws. I had a bad varicose vein that I was somewhat worried about but not enough to hold me back. I've never enjoyed getting my picture taken. I was slightly nervous I'd have a hard time relaxing and not making derpy faces.

How did you like working with my team?
I loved it! You guys were amazing!

My hair looked like silk. My makeup was perfect. I've been obsessed with using browns in my eyeshadows thanks to Courtney using some for this.

Lindsay, you're amazing at what you do and you make it so easy to relax yet be super pumped and excited at the same time.

Courtney, she just knew me. Knew my aesthetic. Blew me away with my images at the viewing. It was a wonderful experience.

Was the session different than you expected?
Absolutely. I thought my anxiety would cause me to overthink everything and I wouldn't be able to relax. Champagne did help... alot.

Did you enjoy your session?
I did. I'm overjoyed I got to bring a small piece if myself with me for this. The record player, records, and headphones really are a big part of who I am. I'm glad I got to share it with you guys.

What was your favorite part?
Sharing that small piece of my vinyl collection. Listening to Nina Simone during the shoot and then walking into my viewing party with playing in the background. It made my heart happy.

Do you have any advice for women interested in booking a boudoir session?
Do it! Love yourself enough to do it. You will not regret it.

Did anything change regarding the way you see yourself after the session?
Everything I set out to do with this session was to embrace and love myself. I found more than that. I found myself. I recognize myself. I feel whole. Like I closed a chapter and started a fresh one.

Did you enjoy working with me and my team? (Be honest!)
Yes! You helped me accomplish my long time dream of becoming a pirate! And you guys truly are awesome. Words dont describe the exact level of amazeballs you each are. It's a lot. And squared.

Did you like your images?
Love love love them.

How did you feel when you saw your images?
Whole. Empowered. Shocked. Proud. "Day-um, this photo... I'm looking right through myself, my soul right now. This is surreal."

Would you ever do another session?
Absolutely.

Will you tell your friends about this session?
I have. I've even told some acquaintances. This is one of my favorite things I've done all year!

Any final thoughts on your session or things you'd like me to know?
Thank you guys so much. This work, this empowerment, we need more of it in the world. We need more people like you and your team in the world. Faith in humanity has increased.

Told you she was one rad babe. As much as we dislike “props” it was awesome using her favorite records in this session. We even listened to one of them on the record player she brought for the shoot. Such a fun time! If you loved it as much as us, drop some love in the comments!
